Great Wolf Lodge Indoor Waterpark and Hotel

My experience at the Great Wolf Lodge started when my parents said that we had to go to Costco, as my brother and me are regular kids we just started to complain. We started to moan and ask why we had to go. It was the start of summer so it was super hot. Then my mom and dad said,”Hey what’s that building?” There was a big building with a picture of a wolf’s paw. “We should check it out.” my dad said. We both moaned, ”Uh, do really do we have to…”

When we entered the place it was a indoor water park! There was pools, slides, and water playgrounds. Then the surprise came, my Mom got us tickets to the waterpark and to stay overnight in the hotel! Mom fooled us for a big surprise!

There was a couple of of small slides, first there was a water racing one, where four people will race going down on a pad going down a long slide. Second there was one where the will lock you in a pod and send you down!

There was a big pool which produces artificial waves! Second was a big water playground which had 3 small slides. Third was a small playground for small kids and babies. The Big slides could makes you go in a raft. The Yellow one make you go in a sideways whirlpool. The Blue one makes you go in a regular whirlpool. The Red one makes you go in circles outside.

That’s my Experience at the Great Wolf Lodge. I had a super fun time. I want to go there again!

Laser Tag at Thrill it Fun Center

The Thrill it Fun Center, is a fun place to go with your family there are 6 games or things to do. You have to go during these hours, Monday-Thursday: at 10:00 am Close at 9:00 pm, Friday & Saturday:at 10:00 am Close at 11:00 pm, and Sunday: at 10:00 am Close at 8:00 pm. The pricing are $12 for all day in Ballocity, $7 for bull rideo, $7 for rock climbing, $9 for area 51 laser tag, $9 for high ropes challenge, $1=1 arcade buck.

My favorite was the laser tag because there are teams and it has a second story places others don’t have them. The laser tag can tire you out as there is 15 min to play whose team has the most score. The laser tag gun is attached to the vest you must shoot shoulders, back, and chest. It is kind of crazy if you have more then 4 on each team. When you are shot you have to wait five seconds to get your gun ready again. You cannot run cause the floor is very slimy. My second favorite is the ballocity because it has many obstacle courses and three stories!

Big Air Trampoline Park

Big Air is a fun place to go with your family. You have to sign a waiver first. The second step is to get an admission sticker, I suggest the membership if you like it there. The third step is to have fun. You have to take off your shoe and have socks.

There are 3 dodge ball courts: 2 are for the big kids and 1 area for the small kids. There is a place where you just jump into a foam pit or do flips into it. The other is when you battle a person with foam sticks the loser falls down below into the foam pit. There is a bull ride where you have to last 30 seconds, but it is really difficult.

There is a open area where you can jump around anywhere and do parkour, but there is a time limit where you can only stay around 10 minutes. There is a small basketball place where you can jump and do a slam dunk or jump and shoot it. Lastly there is a place you can run and jump on the walls. There is a rock climbing place where you can climb to the other side, but if you fail you will fall into the foam pits below…easier said then done.

My favorite is the dodge ball court and the place where you jump into a foam pit. I don’t like the rock climbing because it is very difficult for me. After you went to Big Air think of your experience there and tell us what was your favorite thing to do there.

Pokemon Go Adventures at Huntington Library and Gardens

Pokemon Go is a virtual reality game, on Pokemon of course, and I really recommend to play at Huntington Library not only because of the beautiful scenery, but because of the tons of Pokemon there. Recently I downloaded Pokemon Go mostly because of my cousin, who told me all about it. The next day I went to Huntington Library where we caught a bunch of Pokemon. It’s a great place to activate “Incense” to lure Pokemon. There is Pokemon everywhere, so running out of of PokeBalls may be of a situation so remember to go to PokeStops. We could not go everywhere due to the long walks so I recommend to visit mostly the two gardens, the Japanese Garden and the Chinese Garden.

This is a very basic tutorial on Pokemon Go!

PokeBalls – ball which to capture and hold PokeBall, has a limited amount, to get more visit a PokeStop.

PokeStop – an icon to represent a type of grand or even small memorial part of a place, this icon if near enough you can spin it and it gives off random items for use such as Pokemon Eggs, Revives, Incense, Potions, and PokeBalls.

Incense – an item used to attract Pokemon to you for 30 minutes.

Revives and Potions – used to heal fainted Pokemon to half it’s health and used to heal partial health.

Pokemon Eggs – are Pokemon Eggs gained from PokeStops or bought from the shop, and can hatch by walking a given amount of kilometers. The more kilometers needed to hatch the more rare the Pokemon.

Tips:

  • Do not use Battery Saver
  • Try travel as far as possible
  • Hatch the most rarest eggs first
  • Do not spend real Money, keep it REAL!
  • Be aware of your surroundings or your Pokemon Adventure will end quickly
  • Try to not waste any PokeBalls
  • Look for Pokemon with strong attacks and high Combat Power(CP)
  • Try different regions for different types of Pokemon
  • To find a lot of Pokemon go to parks

Kid’s Blog: Visiting Gatorland

For our family road trip we travelled to Orlando, Florida and went to a gator theme park called Gatorland. As we reached there you can see that there were huge birds that were black or white. The tickets were at a reasonable price but, I surely recommend getting the AAA discount. Once we got our tickets we saw our first alligator there, it was a medium sized guy and it was also sleeping.

There was a huge habitat that hold both crocs and gators with a small sand bar in the middle. We did not notice at first but in the water were fish that we believed were food for the gators and crocs. We even saw a fish food dispenser to feed the fish with pellets only for a quarter. In the middle, were baby crocs and gators. A staff woman was holding a baby gator that you can touch for free and it is so cute.

After we ate, we went to this show called, Gator Wrestling Show. There were two guys, the first one grabbed a Gator by the tail out of the water and told us how the gator eyes can pop in and out. Then he did crazy tricks where he put his chin on top of the gators mouth. His partner began to sing putting the gator to sleep and the 1st guy started tickling the Gator. The gator woke up and went back to the water and that ended the show.

At 1:00 we went to the breeding marsh where they have the biggest gators and by the way there are no crocs there. There was a way to get out but it was only a gate so if you go inside there there is a chance you will get eaten but, luckily there was staff there. For only $10 you can feed them there because behind the gate in the Breeding marsh there was land where the biggest gators wait to get fed. Once you pay you can feed them three pieces of horse meat and also get your picture really scary close to them for more money.

We went to see another show which is called, the Jumparoo Show which is where we saw gators and crocs jump trying to get chicken meat. Later in the show the performers got the chicken meat and made the gators and crocs jump and try taking it from their hand. Then we got 4 hotdogs which you can give to the gators but, be careful the birds might steal it from you and the fish. There is also flamingos where the feeding is if you want to feed them by paying for flamingo pellets.

Later in the afternoon, we went zip lining over the breeding marsh for only $10 and get to feel the experience of gators underneath us. I went first out of my family and was surprised when we had to fall backwards then it moved me over the swamp and I saw gators in the waters. It was so thrilling how I was so close to the breeding marsh because it is actually not a man made swamp.

If it was up to me I will rather go to Gatorland than Disney World and would give Gatorland 4 and a half stars. There is 3 awesome qualities there, it is natural, thrilling, and educational.

Kid’s Blog: Visiting the Statue of Liberty

We went from my friend’s house in Long Island to the Statue of Liberty. First, we walked to the train station. Second, we took the subway to downtown New York. Then we bought our tickets and boarded the ferry.

View of New York from Liberty Island
View of New York from Liberty Island

We rode the ferry to Liberty Island and went on an audio tour. We took lots of pictures and after that we went back to the ferry to Ellis Island and went back to downtown.

I thought the statue was kind of small, but the view of the city was awesome. They made fresh squeezed lemonade on the island and I got a limited edition New York Coke bottle. We didn’t get to make it up to the crown or pedestal because they were sold out, so make sure you reserve months in advance.

We made it to the Statue of Liberty

I think it was awesome maybe you might go there too!

Kid’s Blog: Fourth of July Celebration and Fun!

Do you know what July 4 is really about? It is a birthday party for America because the Revolutionary war is when we became the United States of America. That is when we were a free country that is why we celebrate July 4. This is the day people do fireworks and when we have fun.

We celebrated July 4 with fireworks. Me and my brother lit the the second biggest fireworks called Independence Day. We played with sparklers, fireworks, and poppers. Here are 3 tips to be safe using fireworks: 1) have an adult watch you, 2) light the fuse at the tip, and 3) run for cover.

Yesterday we had a lot of fun, and next year America will be 240 years old. I hope you had a fun July 4th too!

Kid’s Blog: Avengers Age of Ultron Review

The Avengers: Age of Ultron the movie was an absolutely great movie. I liked the humor which was fairly enough and the action was full of excitement. The previous Avenger’s movie had lots of action, but it didn’t have enough plot and excitement while this movie had an equal balance.

Not to spoil but I will give you a hint an unexpected character joins the Avenger team to help battle against the evil Ultron. My favorite part was when they talked about Thor’s hammer. There was a hilarious part when they talked about worthiness and the elevator before Ultron showed himself.

My favorite character is Iron Man especially when he gets in his Hulk-Buster armor. There wasn’t much new characters but they made the battle fair and unpredictable. My favorite character was the special character that came in the end. There was a couple of characters added like the Scarlet Witch and her brother, Quicksilver. They also brought back some characters from other Marvel movies.

I got to admit there is one thing weird though like Ultron’s face on how its mouth move looks like a human mouth’s movement instead of an actual robot. I also didn’t like in the final battle, some of the dialogue between Ultron and an Avenger member was just unnecessary.

I would recommend watching with kids that are 8+ or older. Kids at age 8 might still get nightmares. It is really fun to watch and I believe it is appropriate to all 8 or above. If I had to give it a rating it would be a 4 1/2 Stars out of 5.

Kid’s Blog: The Awesome Pinball Hall of Fame

The Pinball Hall of Fame is a great place to play pinball and arcade games in Las Vegas – View Map. There you will be able to play old, classic arcade games like Qbert, Mario Bros., and Ms. Pacman. You will also be able to play old and new pinball machines including Shrek, the Simpsons, and Family Guy.

If your parents are wondering if there is an admission fee, then tell them there is NO fee! However, you will need money to play. The amount of money that I would recommend you should bring is around $20 for a family of 4. My mom, sister, and I got $20 in quarters and had $5 leftover after playing for over an hour before it closed. We played the games together as a family and competed against each other.

When you get to the Pinball Hall of Fame arcade, you should first change your bills for quarters. You will then want to look for games that are good to play with your family. First of all, I would recommend looking for good pinball deals like 50 cents for 5 balls. Also, some pinball machines have extra value deals like $1.50 or $2 for 3 credits. These machines aren’t cheap and are a good deal.

There are also classic arcade games like Qbert, Ms. Pacman, Asteroids, etc. for only 25₵. We tried Qbert and Ms. Pacman which was difficult but extremely fun. My mom did the best. I also played air hockey against my mom and sister and beat them both! The best pinball machine that I would recommend for you and your family to play is The Simpsons and Family Guy.

For the most fun, I would recommend coming to the Pinball Hall of Fame in the evening with your family. It is great for all ages and especially, if you make a friendly competition among you and your family members. It is a terrific way to bond and make memories.

Kid’s Blog: The Love of Hermit Crabs

I love that my Hermit Crabs are great pets. They are really nice to look at and study. Hermit Crabs are found to be really active at night. This information is gathered from my 3 hermit crab helpers Jaws, Rosie, and Newbie. This is dedicated to Jaws who just recently passed away, he was a loving pet and my favorite hermit crab.

Hermit Crabs may not be active if they are new. Try to get Hermit Crabs that are about the same size so they don’t bully each other. There is one thing that you have to beware of is when they change shells they may fight for the same shell. So try to get shells that are similar so they can each have a new home.

Hermit Crabs are great climbers when they get active. I recommend buying plastic plants and sticks for your hermit crabs to climb. You need plastic plants because they may eat the real ones and you don’t want that. I don’t recommend rocks that are smooth because they won’t be able to climb it but you can put some smooth rocks in to stop them from digging a certain area.

Even though the hermit crabs have shells, they still need shelter to hide. I recommend getting a small cave or a dome shape home that can fit a hermit crab. You can even make them a homemade home with Legos or any building blocks. Remember they can also climb on top of their homes for more climbing space.

Taking care of a hermit crab teaches me responsibility and how to care for others. For instance on normal weekends, it is easy because all I have to do is change the food, change the water, give my hermit crabs a bath and then I’m done. On other weekends, it gets hard when we have to change the dirt and sand in the tank. I recommend changing the water when it gets very sandy as well. The reason it is sandy is because when the hermit crabs go into the water to drink it brings sand with them.

Tip: If the Hermit Crabs are shedding their skin leave them alone. Unless another hermit crab is attacking it then move the hermit crab away from the shedding hermit crab as they are vulnerable.
